iPhone 5 and 5s have been discontinued. Only
resale or used ones are available in the market. If placed side by side they
can be easily mistaken with each other.
The most
obvious external difference is that iPhone 5 has a round square icon on the
concave home button. iPhone 5s and
iPhone SE have a flat home button, contain first generation fingerprint sensor.
Both the phones can be configured with biometric id and iPhone 5 can be
configured with password code.
 iPhone SE is has an "SE"
icon on the back side. iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s are difficult to differentiate.
Both have very different color options – black, front and back, white front
and black back, gray back and white front. The iPhone 5s and iPhone SE have
dual cameras. The front camera or face time camera is not high quality. They
are 1.2mp and the video is 720p. The front camera provides a good performance
in low light due to retina flash for selfies. | |||
Their rear cameras are 8mp and 12mp and dual led flash.
While the video is 1080p and 4k respectively. The camera of iPhone Se is better
than all the predecessors. It has more detail, clarity and includes features
like live photos ( short video is taken before and after the image is shot).
It is hard to tell the two phones apart if kept side by
side. Both have the touch id home button and the shiny chromed edge and matte
finish.

The iPhone 5s and iPhone SE battery life is almost
same except the battery of SE is better than iPhone 5s.
